| HOWDY FOLKS! My name is Jerry Malson and I am a Fly Fishing-a-holic. I was first introduced to fly fishing as a young boy on the McKenzie River in Oregon by rod maker, R. Hale. My first trout was taken with a Royal Coachman on a Calcutta Bamboo rod. I’m not certain who was hooked better, me or the large Rainbow that I caught that morning. but insects and wild trout have been a large part of my life ever since. Throughout my childhood any fish was fair game for my fly rod. After finding out some of the places I've been to fly fish, my mother would shake her head and tell me I've never live to be 21. In the 50's Oregon had a lot of untouched pristine water that I got to know. I almost didn't graduate from high school because of a Blueback run for which I had skipped school. In the years that followed I have been able to fish and take people fishing throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana. My wife, June and I, moved to Northwest Montana 31 years ago, bought a ranch and went into the outfitting industry. We work full time at taking people hunting and fishing. A tough job, but somebody has to do it! |

This is truly the best of Montana’s fly fishing. Probably one of the best kept secrets in Montana with hundreds of lakes, streams and rivers filled with wild trout. Truly a fly fisherman’s paradise!
